Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will announce the establishment of an Office of AI on Wednesday in Sydney, to be housed within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. The office is intended to coordinate a whole-of-government approach to AI policy in the absence of existing specific AI legislation. Plans include faster approval processes for AI-related projects such as data centres.
