Apple submitted a court brief on August 31 supporting its motion for expedited pre-trial fact-finding in a lawsuit that accuses OpenAI of stealing trade secrets through former Apple engineer Chang Liu. The filing alleges Liu downloaded a confidential circuit schematic, maintained unauthorized access to Apple cloud storage after joining OpenAI in January, and instructed a colleague to destroy evidence. OpenAI has moved to dismiss the case while more than 400 former Apple employees now work at the company.
