Ann Widdecombe, 78, was struck 21 times on the head with a hammer at her Devon residence on July 8 while eating lunch. Joshua Kerry, 28, from northern England, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on July 21 charged with murder and was remanded in custody. The incident was captured on an internal camera and Widdecombe was discovered the following day.
