Alibaba agreed to pay $600 million and entered non-prosecution agreements after admitting it failed to block approximately 80,000 unlawful sales of pharmaceuticals, controlled substances, and related equipment between 2016 and 2024. The U.S. Justice Department, FDA, and other agencies documented violations through more than 40 undercover purchases. AUS Merchant Services, Alibaba's U.S. payment processor, was involved in the resolution.
