Abdul El-Sayed invited Hasan Piker to his primary victory celebration and later stated that only he speaks for his campaign. Six to ten Democrats out of more than 250 elected federal officeholders have publicly commented on Piker’s recent remarks, while several prominent Democrats including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, and Summer Lee have previously appeared with or campaigned alongside Piker. El-Sayed issued an apology to Jewish Democrats.
