Framing Analysis
ABC and its parent company Disney sued the Federal Communications Commission on Tuesday to block an early review of broadcast licenses for eight Disney-owned local TV stations. The action follows Donald Trump's repeated calls since 2024 for the FCC to revoke ABC licenses and comes after ABC declined to air a prime-time Trump address on election security and adjusted political bookings on its daytime talk show The View. FCC Chair Brendan Carr stated in a Reuters interview that the agency was not infringing on free speech rights.
