A coalition of 25 states and the District of Columbia sued the Trump administration on Monday in federal district court in Massachusetts, challenging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' interpretation of exemptions for medically frail individuals under Medicaid work requirements. The suit addresses the administration's application of these rules to state waiver programs. Half of U.S. states are participating in the litigation.
