The Social Security Administration's trustees report states that the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance trust fund will be depleted by the end of 2032, after which 78 percent of scheduled benefits would be payable. The projection moved forward one year from the prior estimate following enactment of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Over 70 million Americans receive benefits under the program.
